Does everythin need a license?

When you enter the real world of selling music, all the paper work and professional stuff, do you need licenses and proof of just about EVERYTHING, like which DAW, which vst or vsl, which sounds within those VI's.
I mean, does it get in to that much detail.

Some people request that you list what sounds were used in the contract. This isn't a requirement. That would be forcing people to give away trade secrets. You just need to clear any samples or make it clear in the contract that they need to clear the sample before they use the song.
