I hate it. I know it very well and hate it. A lot of people like it tho. It has some really good plugins, but the GUI is annoying as hell to use
i find it easiar than pro tools to use.. and more efficient.
so i might stick with it.
i been wantin to change out my interface too so now that i dont have to do digidesign thats cool
I wouldn't get a digi interface anyway lol
I know the ins and outs of both programs tho. It takes a lot longer to do the things that I do inside of logic than it does pro tools. They have a lot of dumb shit that isn't necessary. Do I really need separate midi faders and audio faders for every single track? shit like that makes life more difficult.
i just checked it out on Apples site...doesnt look bad... seems kinda easy to use...
might try it when i get a mac.
word.. i got the digi ish cos Pro Tools was like myfirst program.. lol didnt know about interfaces and preamps besides they didnt have the m-powered versions then..
but now im on the search for a new interface/preamp..
i seem to get a better mix out of logic though.. don't know y.
they have better plugins that come stock thats 4 sure tho..
That could be the issue. I don't use stock plugins at all. I do like Logic's synths. They have some wild shit. I don't use synths very much at all tho.
I used to have the MBox before M-Powered came out. I hated it. M-Audio makes some of my favorite gear tho. They have some great interfaces as far as features go.
word.. hit me up opey.. i sent u a pm of a prob im having.. u b on aim?
i hate it personally to me it was more for composers, it didn't feel like a multi track recorder and lacked the editing capabilities of pro tools which i just upgraded to version 8 and i like it. Being an analog person i like that it looks like a console when you bring up the mix window and the different editing modes you can go into like shuffle slip spot and grid are sick grid actually is lame but the rest are cool the editing capabilities are unmatched. I still would rather track on tape but for hip hop where alot of editing goes down pro tools is for sure the better choice or just tracking on tape than bouncing to pro tools

If you map the tempo of your songs the grid mode is highly useful. Probably the most useful mode there is.
word.. i love pro tools to death that was my first program and 8 is just more beastly..
but like u said logic is more a compositional tool. which is what do alot.
of course i record people and myself in pro tools tho..
Word. I imagine that Sculpture synth plugin is right up your ally. If you haven't used it yet, I suggest checking it out. It's probably the only reason I still have Logic installed (just in case I wanna use it). Logic is has some of the most advanced MIDI functionality of any DAW. It's only rivaled by Sonar on the PC.
I like that Digi beefed up the MIDI on PT8 to compete tho.
If you take the time to map your song out, grid mode IS exact.
Every mode has a purpose. I use them all.
Spot has nothing to do with making exact edits. Spot is mostly for editing audio for film. For doing precise cuts you usually use tab to transient in slip mode.
grid never was wrong to me.. as long as u got the right tempo itll b right on precise..
otherwise ill use slip mode.. but rarely..
