Ok please don't come in here if you don't want any spoilers because i would prefer to have a discussion about this film. I'm not going to say much in my first post incase one of you fools who doesn't want spoilers "accidently" clicked the thread...

Has anyone seen this yet? Not sure when it came out in the US but it dropped today here...i think there was special previews last night but i went today to watch this as i've been anticipating its release for quite some time now.

This is one long ass movie i must say but i was not once bored and it didn't feel as though i was there that long..kinda like when i went to see bad boys 2 cuz thats a long film. anyway this thread is about watchmen.

Oh yeah are there people who read the comics? you see i havent read the comics or had any real interest until i heard the film was being made...i'm a plastic watchmen fan self admittedly but i really enjoyed this film

seen a couple of trailers, seems decent at least if you're into the comic book scene, i used to read a comic or 2, so if a comic film is made good - then i dig it, ,

what annoyed me is when they were fighting the posturing they would do. it was annoying. like "yay i just took out five people let me stay in my crouching tiger hidden dragon stance."

i heard the ending was changed, but i didn't really see 2 much difference from what was happening at the end of the comic, than during the ending of the movie.

beware of doctor manhattan penis shots.

also the sex scene inside archie was hilarious cuz of the music they were playing, like hallejulah he can finally get it up!!!!!!!!!!

from reviews theres a bunch saying OMGZ MASTERPIECE WOW

then others saying EH IT WAS TOO FAITHFULL AND DETAILED

lol dont get how thats critisizm but most of the bad rewivews is saw said things that made it obvious these were people who have no idea what they were watching.

one critics line was "one of the characters takes a vacation on mars...WELL OF COURSE HE DOES!!!".

i was reallt disappointed rorschach died! even though i hear this happens in the comic but he was my favourite character!

mr manhattan was my shit

something about attempting a conversation with an omnipresent being made me laugh and feel disappointed at the same time. the insignificance of all those things we focus on in relation to the importance of man kind made me feel inspired and ashamed of the life i personally lead.
theres been plenty of times in my life i've said "i understand.. i dont condone it but i understand."
indifference is a sweet procrastination.........

It was a great movie.

story - awesome, creative story with alot of depth... although it drags on
at parts especially parts involving the Silk Spectre II... I think the story
could have advanced faster on her parts but I guess it was necessary
to make other scenes more impactful and the payoff at the end greater.

directing - wow, awesome attention to details and you can really feel the
energy of the time period the movie is based on. I bet older comic fans
love this movie.

casting - superb casting especially Comedian and Rorschach. I think Silk Scepter II
should have been hotter instead of that wide faced no curving having chick. But
I have not read the book so not sure how she's supposed to look in the book.

i remembered last night how the ending was different from the comic book.

i wonder why they chose to switch it?

but yes the older comic book heads were out when i went they even had their kids, it was very weird with the sex scenes and the penis shots to see little kids running around.

doc manhattan doesn't take the blame for the deaths of a million humans.

they blame it on an alien invasion gone bad, the aliens supposedly had psychic powers that killed millions i forget how the alien dies. that's why during the explosion that old newspaper stand dude is hugging the kid reading the newspaper, in the comic that kid is reading outside that newstand for days, it's not important in the movie but it is in the comic, and he's acutally reading a comic, i think it's about the whether the human race deserves to be saved.

I think some parts of the movie was cooler than what you can do in a comic and I like
the fact that the director fully took advantage of it without fucking up the originial
story.
