the net has really done nothing but good for hip-hop (except for downloading I guess)...but the good far outweighs the bad. People get recognized easier, its easier to find new artist to listen too, you can download LEGALLY on i-tunes and what not...
Its battling forums that fuck it up
It has stream lined the industry so much. that there is no need for a industry.
There hasn't been need for an industry in a while. People are getting out there without an industry. Come on now, you have to be kidding me with this shit.
I know this is not hip-hop related, but Radiohead's last album "In Rainbows" was put online for FREE and they made more money than almost all of their previous albums on donations and/or people actually caring to pay for it. The industries all over in music are failing because you don't need them.

it was a sarcastic statement really meant for the e-gangsters in frontlines...
But I'd agree with you...
Mariah: You have a great point. That radio head album made good money. It didnt make as much as their last few album though. Dont know where you read that... But either way, made good money.
No other band could really do that in my opinion though.
I read this on some really unreliable source I am sure, but I read they made more than Pablo Honey and OK Computer.
As far as anyone else doing that - if that was the way that music went, instead of an industry, everyone would be able to do it. It's because of the industry that they don't.
