Does it really matter?
I want the best sound quality possible.
Mixing wont be an issue.

you would notice a difference in sound, maybe not so much the difference in sound quality... most mics in those price ranges will sound great, but they will sound different... it will also matter on the entire rest of your setup...

would you get a $1k kick drum mic over a $5 all-purpose "computer" mic if you were recording vocals? FUCK NO! Qualty in application > price
If youre buying a mic for vocals post up what mics... not price ranges cause you could also be getting ripped off on the $1k mic and the $600 mic might be very cheap for the model so yeh... what fuckin mics are they?

read the specs thats the only real way to know
nah the only real way to know is to actually use them. this is oe of the reasons that recording engineers are so valuable.
I`m not a "techie" but honestly I wouldn`t even be considerin` spendin` that much money on a mic if I didn`t know the answer to that question myself.

I say listen to Opey... he know what he talkin bout..
Not to say you others dont.... I just know Opey...
Self Made... You just affiliated.
Oh you mad cuz I'm stylin on you...? You could have better gear and couldnt style it on me...
real bad example Paze.
lol.
any 1,000 dollar mic, for ANY application, is going to shit on a 5 dollar computer mic. Sorry.
I will bet my life savings on that shit 7 days a week, and twice on sunday.
Cuz there are 50 dollar drum mics that shit on ANY computer mic when recording vocals.
like opey said, the only way to be sure is to listen.
also, consider the rest of your signal chain... cuz the buck dont stop at the mic... it only starts.
Welcome to reality.
and each piece gets more expensive as the chain continues lol

you must be talking about a sub kick which is completely different than any other mic.
on another note i wouldnt want a sub kick that only picks up to 300hz
and paze, let's be realistic
no person spending upwards of 1000 for a mic is going to choose the mic that says "bass drum sub microphone" over something that says just "microphone"....
specialty mics like sub mics are ALWAYS clearly labeled, and usually placed in completly different areas or stores, and online stores.
No one is going to accidentally purchase a sub mic thinking there getting a vocal mic unless were talking about a retard here.
In MOST cases
a 1000 dollar mic is going to sound better than a 600 dollar mic
if used in the exact same signal chain.
There are stand out mics at every price range that is 500+ though.
But three are some mics at a G, that no matter WHAT your tracking, or what you throw on it... its going to sound better than any 600 mic. One of those would be a Peluso 2247, or a Mojave MA200, I gaurantee you either of those mics will blow a Shure KSM32, or any mic in that range out the water in a shootout
Welcome to reality.
it's hard to mistaken this for a vocal mic...
The sub kick is crack tho. That's all I used on the kick in my new track. I also tracked with a Beta 52 but ended up not even using it in the mix.
