    Man And His Choices

A father sits in his car, his son bleeding in the back
He fell off an old swing, his skull has a big crack
The father yells, "Hey Jack, just sit tight we're almost there"
The hospital is miles from here, so he speeds completely unaware
That his tank rests on empty....the light begins to blink
He turns into a gas station...and then begins to think
He spent his last dollar, as his son hollers, on an ice cream cone
Looks back at his crying son...........wondering what he's done
    ...Blood rushes from his dome.......................................

The child's cries intensify, as the father starts to shiver
He's got a 44 in the dash, he coukld steal steal some cash, his lip quivers
He grabs the steel from the box, steps out, says hold on to his kid
Runs into the spot, fires off a shot, then realizes what he did
A cop busts through the door, escorting a whore, he just picked up
Reaches for his piece, pulls it too swiftly, the father's run out of luck

As the child cries, his dad dies, the cop drops to his knees
Cause' the little boy, was at the door, carrying in his father's keys
He says, "Dad you forgot these" as the blood rushes from his brain
Then he see's his dad, in the aftermath, his emotions he can't contain
The officer tries, to apologize, but no words can be enough
To a six year old, those bullet holes, are taken fairly tough

Blame it on the dad, for being bad, but trying to do good
Or blame it on the oil, as it spoils, so many livelihoods
Either way you go, either path you take, the same is at stake
The way of man who still don't understand, the hell on earth we make
I'm not going green, that's just obscene, but I still must make a stand
Fuck the government, with every penny spent, taking over foreign land
While back at home, as our children grow, their parents can't find pay
Left alone, in nobody's home, the children soon will fade away
As the children fade, even though we've prayed, maybe that day we'll see
That the only way, for life to be OK, is to live in unity

I've never known to love peace, I've always made love TO war
As I watch the world grow poor, I stay silent no more
This shit I can't support, this life which I MUST live
The men who run this world, never shall I forgive

Watching how time flies, as I watch the shit fly by
I wonder about mine, I wonder why I try
These bastards with their jets, gamble with our checks
And as they loose their bets....tougher our lives get

I liked this peice man, had a clean concept for starters. The emotion was felt man and had good imagery too. Your flow stayed on point the whole way through i found which made it a smooth read. Vocab coulda used a little bit of work but wasnt that bad. Just shoulda made it longer man lol.

I really like the concept. HOw it went from the story about the child and morphed into a bigger picture, Great Job. However, maybe it was intentional, but theres a lack of emotion throughout the piece. I won't hold it against you because the narrator is 3rd person and appparently omniscient, but an emotional impact would really bring home the message to the reader ( as in exploring the depth of the child and father's emotions). The wordplay was also nice, it gave it a sort of poetic read.
    Good job

Thank You. The lack of emotion was not intentional, and I get exactly what you are saying.
