Those things are like putting on band aid over gun shot wound.
People who suck depend on those things for a quick fix.
If you think like that, if you think in terms of, "I have to
use this, or that, I have to follow tutorials to be good."
You're only covering up for your suckdom. Sure, you
will still improve by the means of pure experience, but
it will take you a long, long, long... long time to get good.
So then, what do I suggest? Learn the principles of design
and get inspired by great works of art. When you know the
principles, instead of trying to memorize techniques without
even knowing why they work, you can apply these principles
for any situation, any style, with any tool, and your shit
will still look good. Then, my friends, you are good.
