Thread: Persistence of Memories

    Persistence of Memories

    Persistence of Memories

A picture can personify a thousand words
In the same way a painting can create a verse,
Or how memories can keep track of time’s worth.

Time may be eternal, but it will not always be remembered.
Periods die out, as the ink on the paper fades away, losing
Parts of our history due to our lack of preservation.
The times that go limp should not be dwelled upon, because
Time does not take the effort of dwelling upon you.
When the gears inside of your watch stop turning,
And the batteries lose all of their supposed power,
Think of it as revenge for what time will inevitably do to you.
A clock’s carcass lies only in the depths of your
Subconscious mind. If they become Persistent,
Then let them drift away, as they are irrelevant.

Time is nothing more than the memories that keep it.

This was great, and the message you sent was awesome. Although, I have to admit, that I don't know if it deserves HoF. That could just be my lack of ability to critique a poem? Yeah, we'll just say that, don't want to drown your proable excitement over the expectation of HoF. Anyway, I'm sorry about ranting there. This piece was short, and there is such a good message, and the way your keyed it was amazing. I'm very impressed! Please rtf on, It is what it is.

Haha, nah I don't get excited, I'm humbled by the fact that one person might think it's HoF, while another doesn't. A balanced review = a balanced head. If it makes HoF, then great. If not, I'm honoured that it at least got NOM'd, ya dig?

'Preciate the feed, and of course I'll return. I'd feel guilty if I didn't haha.

lol, it will get HoF, it better! It's more deserving than alot of pieces that go in. I'm just a skeptic, it used to be hard to make HoF.

This poem was hot. I'm really feeling the way you started the poem which made for a clear understanding of the poem. Your vocabulary was hot and the emotion was very evident in this poem. You got talent because you can actually make a short poem get a point across while many cant. When you said "Time may be eternal, but it will not always be remembered" it really put someone in the mood to read a real poem. Dope shit! Good job!

Nyce and I would love some feedback mate..

Pretty cool little intellectual read like Nsight said. I felt that the wording was overall nice. Flowed pretty well. Imagery was alright, emotion was alright. Next time you right, I'd recommend either getting a really nice story and/or concept and using it. Something that is creative and has not been done yet. You know? And just make it your own dude. This was a nice read, though done before. See where I'm coming from? Keep writing dude, you're UE/LJM for a reason. You've got talent.

Aight I'll get to your poem soon man.

And unfortunately, storytelling isn't my forté, I've kinda flopped when trying to write a storytelling poem, I prefer to just poke at people's thoughts and try to bring things up in a new light, and I think that's what I'm going to continue doing.
