This gonna help a lot of young artists, but I dont know how well it'll compete with something like iTunes major artists songs.
people go for all of the new shit like bait on a hook. so yeah, it'll either go sky high or smack into a wall. but it seems like it'll do great...
it all depends on promotion. Stuff has to have hype behind it for people to care.
Yeah but MySpace has already been hyped throughout it's music feature history as one of the most powerful tools an artist can have in the Digital Age, that'll be enough for most people.
And it's true, as much as some of us hate to admit it.
Although i'm guessing it won't be as successful as they hope. Most artists on MySpace take that 'anti-corporate independent' approach (ironically), so I doubt it'll open up a gold mine of artists. If it does though, power to them.
It would be interesting to see how they go about signing and promoting etc, or if the music community they have already would be replaced/switched up.

I don't think it will help independent artists alot unless they get good promotion or they already have a following.
