A Book of Thought by Lecomp

The mind is a library.
It contains novels of life, poems of spirit,
Songs of emotion, and plays of perspectives.

The library is multilingual, speaking in many
Different tongues, which are manipulated by the brain.
The power of ideas are shared here, with the option
Of limitation for what could be considered unnecessary
To share. Speech.

Reading the books is important. Actions speak
Louder than words, in the same way a painting can
Tell a whole story. In order to fully understand,
You must analyse the texts under the intense eye
Of scrutiny. Sight.

Opinions form the key to the library. Different
People have different preferences, and what suits one
May not be suitable for another. The library
Contains something for everyone, no matter what
They believe. Taste.

The world is changing around us, and so do the contents
Of the library. Audio is now at our disposal, and enables
Us to broaden our minds in the ways in which we learn,
And the ability to listen to what other people have
To say. Hearing.

Our wisdom is nothing if we have no soul. We
Need to be able to relate to what we learn, and have the ability
To feel what the contents of the library are saying. Without
Emotion, the mind is just a program, nothing more than
A robot. Touch.

I like this comparison between the mind and libary, very straight-forward. I do have a few minor gripes though. Like, where you decide to break your lines, it seems a little jumpy at times, and that's not quite reader friendly. Also, you seemed to be caught with a "preacher" voice in your poem, but now that I think about it, it fits accordingly with the poem. So overall, this was a sound poem, the whole poem was a metaphor. But I believe it would have been better executed without outlining the metaphor. You should have just left the title as A Book Of Thought. Other than that, Great poem. Sorry, that you have to look at so many, pointed out gripes, but that's just my personality, I have to point out problems lol, but trust me, the good outweighs the bad.

Powerful stuff here, it feels like the creative floodgates opened up here mate, ha. Having read your other poems on Illesty. This is my personal favourite poem from you. The concept was great, especially how you incorporated the 5 senses in a somewhat ambiguous fashion. Your wording was polished as always. I haven't really much more to say, but I liked this.

Good piece, very powerful...well written. This was very creative and your wording was good. Emotion was top notch and good use a rather large metaphor. It was very enjoyable to read and you exectued it well. Sorry for the shitty feed im in a rush to get out but props man, nice drop.
