its hard to answer this question because Rappers change over time, I would say the top lyricist are Illmatic Nas, Soul On Ice Ras Kass, and Internal Affairs Pharoahe Monche, but none of them are the Rappers they were when that album came out, either they grew as artist or began to take a different approach to their music.

There is a difference between being a good lyricist and really feeling an artist's style or message. When people post they really need to think past who they like.
