Maybe its because these gay ass sites offer prizes but never pay up. If its a site that does pay up, then you can BET that its never going to be the best battler that actually wins. Its going to be based on how many friends they have on that site. Somebody good might win, but its usually because they know the most dudes that are voting. Story of how every RM text battler has ever won anything in the past 4 years. But the same applies elsewhere.
