the interface will give you a sufficient preamp for now. You could invest in a mic around the $1000 range tho. Nuemann, Bock Audio, Rode, Audio Technica, and Blue all make good mics. There are a lot of mic choices out there. I'd just focus on gettig the rest together before jumping into mics and pre's.

FIRST: cubase and nuendo are the same program... nuendo can use viideo... EVEN if he wanted a studio... 2400 is MORE than enough to get that working... he doesn't have to be a hip hop producer... there are ALL AROUND mics better than what you're proposing... not to mention you didn't go into specifics... just random shit... and MBOX's are pieces of SHIT... FUCK PROTOOLS... if it isn't worth 1200 and up it's not worth it from digidesign... and that is not an opinion... that is a fact. the best soundcard in the price range... you're fucking retarded... my 3 year old EMU 1820 shits on the mbox... the M audio 1814 which is supposed to be the "baby" version of it SHITS ON THE MBOX... hell the smaller maudio interface 410 I believe SHITS ON THE MBOX... and I'm including the pro.

I was recommending digidesign shit just for Pro Tools. Cheapest piece Ive seen is $90 that you can use Pro Tools with but thats with a cracked version of Pro Tools since it doesnt come with the hardware

stay away from blue... like a overpriced rode... honestly... they aren't all they are cracked up to be... AT's are GREAT mics... had I not gotten the k2 I'd have a at... bock audio is amazing... nuemann is industry standard for a reason... but the k2 or classic... bock audio mics or at... can all stand up with the nuemann...

yes they are... they have little to no difference... some better plugs with nuendo... and it does video... other than the fuckin look of it... same program. Don't be cute b... lol
