Yea I speak simple, good looks on the feedback,
you need to hear the shit live,
can't help but to give me daps.
it's all about poetry now, but the groove's missin.
i'm surrounded by shit that'll get you missin.
so know that i got extensive vocab, fo' sho' black,
my shit's old school like bo-jack's, i jus decide to hold back,
hold up . . . it's not all about words in rhyme schemes,
but i still keep it the realist, i got the voice of the time seams.
It's all about communication and dumb readers need to relate,
so all that pretty shit's cool and yea i got my plate.
my shits never off beat its jus comin off your lips,
i would rip the audios this freestyles as good as your hits.
every ones always got sometin to say,
make me wanna pick up a milli, blow sometin away,
i aint gangster, i aint thug,
but i gotta salty mentality that make me melt slugs.
so judgmental, why try so hard,
what yall say in a verse i say in a bar,
don't dwell, dont embellish, keep it real, try to sell it,
if you can't dont be a sell-out and get jealous,
and cause my shit ain't a thesaurus,
i dont jus use words cause they rhyme . . . that shit bores us.
you think contents deep cause it got metaphores,

y'all dabble in battle raps,
babble at best my shits classic like cadillacs,
you could see that wit cataracts,
snakes i hear em rattle, words cut through em like battle axe,
yall jus a part of the herd, i throw my saddle on caddles backs,
ride and go down wit my ship, i dont want the paddle back,
if i had a crack at yall snitches, y'all jus some taddle tail fags,
were those last few bars intricate enough for y'all cats mags,
you can make a new category called "rapper thats jus plain mad".

Eh, i understand the overall message, but it just seems ignorant. Like Laydee said, rap is a form of poetry... it's pretty much the same thing as poetry/spoken word except you have to rhyme.... believe it or not, Que-C, what you just typed was poetic, so it almost seemed hypocritical. anyways, nice drop, it kept me interested and you had nice rhyming.

Ok I see what you guys are saying about poetry and i would have to say they are the same..but on the net is where the real difference becomes apparent...you have a lot more freedom in poetry cuz not everyone is looking for multies, punches, rhyme scheme etc..and honestly some people wont even respect your verse if those things are not up to the standards of "vets"..honestly a lot more politics in rap on the net..I have found that poets (meaning those who do poetry first rather than emceeing) can actually craft a hip-hop verse easier than the reverse...

but anyways your verse just seemed like exactly what it was venting..man get thicker skin...once u prove your self by your work the rest will follow...there were some lines that stood out but im not a fan of the venting..keep doing you

Yet, although your theory holds truth, hip hop is the direct descendant of poetry. If you want to get technical then lets take you through the facts. Poetry is self expression, through the hard times such as war, poverty, heart break and sorrow. Hip hop was brought to the table as a direct spring off of spoken word poetry back in the mid 70's early 80's... to show poverty and struggle through the same culture in which spoken word was birthed and in fact poetry itself was birthed during the 12th century in the invasions. In which men would feel so passionately about the pain they were feeling it almost became abstract to a normal vocabulary. As did hip hop. So before you say this is rap battles and not poetry battles, know your history. Then in turn, respect the future of the art in which it was born.

again, maybe i need to send a audio to you blind folk, im not downin poetry . . . but yall aint rappin no excuses, theres a major difference, the culture is dj's and b-boys, grafitti and lockin, not jus "the struggle", that shits a misconception, you got a lot to learn about hip-hops history homie . . . you need to read a little more, or maybe get a dvd since yall cant read. stop jus talkin and listen, and if you gotta settle for random thoughts and emotions cause you cant rock a beat and tell a story at the same time wit some raw simple structure, dont rap. and dont get mad cause cats is talkin street it might be fake outa most mouths but some people its real, and most people jus cant relate, rap is street and when rappers aint street they make excuses wit big words and metaphores, thats a cop out. you get on a mic on stage and that pretty shit get boo'd underground or commercial.
