Live on Television or Live to Tell a Vision?(Edit)

Live on Television or Live to Tell a Vision?

I'd just like to dedicate this verse to the memory of grandma's house and the local broadcasting networks of the day...all those boring ass afternoons and nights I spent as a child unable to change the channel...yeah, this if for grandma's house; vibe with me, cause I know you've been through it to.....zzzzzz

I was chillin watchin the tube in my la-z-boy
When the signal was interrupted by a hazy void
Needless to say, annoyed, frustrated with the pixel lapse
When all of a sudden the box started buggin and the shit collapsed
Missing Rap City, now I’m actively pissed!!!
Just bought a satellite pack with a chip and now it’s actually fritzed?
Imagine this! Start thinking did I forget to pay the cable dues?
Nah, paid ‘em – maybe it’s a storm or a disabled fuse?
Nah, bright and sunshiny, fuses stayed in tact
When all of sudden, the entire space faded straight to black
The whole scene started switching – I was still bitching about Rap City
The room started to spin – I was caught cold within the rhapsody
As consciousness came back to me – I could not dispel the visions
I had become a mime inside a box – I was trapped inside my television!
I thought I’d fallen asleep – the whole scene appeared dreamy
Til I realized I was standing between Major Nelson and Jeannie
Jumped channels to sleep it off during commercials on Craftmatic adjustibles
Woke up standing oddly next to Cosby – or was it Cliff Huxtable?
So I ran over Green Acres, M*A*S*Hed out and uttered “Cheers!"
Watched for 60 Minutes as Happy Days ran into Wonder Years
Took a Star Trek through the Twilight Zone in a Quantum Leap
Searched for some Northern Exposure and went skiing on Twin Peaks
Made Friends and Family Ties and became Married…with Children
Moonlighting as a Taxi driver for the Little House on the Prarie I’m buildin
Got shot and ended up in ER diagnosed by Dr. Quinn as dead
Law & Order claimed Homicide from the Gunsmoke & bullet in the head
So NYPD Blue chased the Fugitive to St. Elsewhere
The General Hospital that was shut down by cuts in health care
Called in Hawaii Five-O, CHIPs and Magnum PI
And hauled the Fugitive back to Night Court to be tried
Perry Mason took the case and explained the exhaustive chase
Just then I woke back up to black, Lost in Space
All memories erased as I awakened back to hazy void
The cable’s still out, and I’m still laying in my la-z-boy

Writer's Note: Look, I promise to GOD this is going to be the last piece that I revise! Thank for reading.

P.S. - no that's not me in the picture, ((lol))pZ!

    Ledg...gotta say...this is HoF-worthy..

The flow had a rhythm like no other I've read in the OM...cats styles so played out and the same in writtens now adays....but this peice sounded like some Slick Rick oldschool shit ya digg
The beginning I thought "ye, gonna be another wack peice with some fillers of multis, same ol shit.." but then after the first bar I was like "yo, the flow is impeccable, the vocab is flawless, story's piloting well so far..." and you amazed me

    brilliant read

Dude, lol, that was freaking tight. The part where you go off on the TV shows thing is just laced with content, it is really ingenuitive... very clever and fun to read and of course rolls off the tongue. It was really funny the way you just kinda ran with this topic when you came up with it, I guess, seemed like one of those really fun exercises in lyricism like that gym class heroes song about emo bands, it had a similar kind of rhyme appeal going subject to subject...

That entire part was really awesome, lol, right off the tongue and fun to read. Quality as always. Anywho, there's no real complaints here, it's a little short and ends a bit quickly, maybe, cuz there's so much u could get into, but it was a good read. Peace Ledge.

WOW, this was sick as fuck, great concept and very original. The imagery blew me away, it was sooooo vivid, like damn, great idea with the shows and how you made it into wordplay and all... and on the top of all that, your rhyme-scheme was dope too.

    this is my fav part:

Nice..This was a very entertaining read..like when that one comedian made all of those jokes about movie titles..this was similar to that..I mean the flow was great...and your descriptive imagery made for a fun and imaginable read..you really nailed this one..with the beginning part..about the grandma thing..that really made me relate to it a bit more..overall this was great for the OM section to step aside from all the seriousness..in which you really didn't because all the mechanics were there..but it was nice to get that hell nall type of feel upon the end..niceness..again...great read...RTF pls..

Original and fluid to read man. You mixed this piece up smoothly with tv titles and a strong rhyme scheme. Your use of imagery was easy enough to picture and your story was progressive and interesting. I'll make a note to check out some more of your shit in the future. Nice to see some solid topical talent in Open mic.

    Keep posting.

Damn yo, this peice was real nice. From the title i knew it would be good, but didnt expect you to take this angle on it. The way you combined it to make it seem like you ran through all the movies, but used it as a wordplay, must've took alotta thought. It was real interesting, and even better because alot of the shows are older shows, that many ppl arent familiar with now adays.

    Fav Parts.
