havent posted on RB in a long ass time. got bored and decided to drop a little something something in my old stomping grounds. so heres a little free verse jump off. inspired by the subject. much respect to all that read. enjoy.
writers block
what is there to say
when nothing is left to be said
creativity robbed for all its worth
a growing field of imagination
set ablaze by flooded attempts at uniqueness
the infinite supply of ideas
now overwhelmed by demand
an epidemic dry spell engulfs the writer
the ink is full yet the pen remains motionless
the quill has seemed to float away
leaving the page abandoned
however still ignorantly awaiting
to become a work of art
the canvas has been blank
only painted with dust and solitude
the artist baron of ambition
free will became what the writer feared
a stereotypical human resource
ultimately exhausted and depleted
words of beauty have been replaced
by scripted diction stripped of substance
and the scribe is left to belief
his time arrived and was embraced
only to slip through his fingers
like grains of sand when time has ran out
a second coming is in order
an unstoppable and undeniable offensive
mounted against all that is not Unique
those burnt fields cultivated once again
set to flourish without restraint or limit
the writer will once again imagine
and through such a powerful concept
the universe can be undone
and carefully pieced back together
only to be slightly more perfect...than before
