    Microphone Help

I'm only used to using a cheap cheap microphone, what I believe was a dynamic mic. It had a circle base and a long neck, with a mic' at the end. It was terrible...

But my mother's husband has a microphone that he used to sing at parties and karoake shit, I think it was a condeser mic'... it has an amplifier with it and all that. It's also wireless.

I have almost no knowledge in microphones for computers, but is there ANY possible way to hook up my mother's mic' to my computer? Any help would be appreciated.

USB microphones are easier to hook up with a computer, but are they any good? I looked on this website and found these:

Around $100, maybe a little less or more. But about $100. I'm saving money for a few other things, so the budget is low.

i'd say get a shure sm58 if you only got 100 to spend.

It works well on certain types of voices better than a cheap condensor mic will. Because with the cheap diaphragm of a USB condensor mic vibrating faster, mixed with the rest of the mic being cheap parts, and cheap A/D conversion based in the mic..... it sounds bad.

But for a fact... those samson mics sound horrible. I actually got to hear one over this guys house last weekend... i've heard dynamic mics that sound better.

and just to let you know, that "karaoke mic" your buddy uses, is just a wireless dynamic mic.

the amplifier is for the wireless signal.
    Welcome to reality.

    Re: Microphone Help

Okay, thanks, man. I also might be winning 300 bucks for a logo contest, so that'll widen the budget. Any suggestions in the $200 range? For the best microphone that I can hook up to the computer without any hassles and shit... thanks though.
