Logic Pro7, Pro Tools, or Cubase
they each allow you to use vst's, you can make drum, hats, snares, and shit, and record

if you dont have any equipment i would recommend to upgrade to a newer version of fl or go with reason.

for vocals, cubase is good, once you figure it out you'll see how powerfull that program is.
Try to get your hands on the Waves bundle aswell for mixing.

How is cubase better then Audobe Audition (cool edit). I got both, IMO cubase is kinda shitty... although I dont know a whole lot about it so... what makes it so much better?

^^^^cubase has the potential to come out with a lot nicer quality than adobe....cubase isnt shitty at all....i use adobe and cubase....cubase if im being serious....adobe when im bering lazy....adobe is better for using as a sampler....choppin em up and editing them and such....
cubase can be used for beats, has a drum machine, use of vst instruments and so on.....adobe doesent...adobe is strictly for recording/editing audio...

but actually, i havent used adopbe 2.0...im still on 1.5...

Re: Recording software and beat making software

im a power user when it comes to FLStudio and Cubase...

I use adobe audition just to cut my samples, because it loads up faster than Cubase tho... but im about to switch to wavelab to do that, cuz that loads even faster than AA.

Cubase has infinitly more functionality, and features than Adobe Audition does, and the built in effects, and instruments (cool edit dont even have instruemnts built in) are ALOT better. It's hard to fully explain why it's better, because it's so much shit that tops Adobe. Bottom line, Cubase is geared more to the "pro-sumer/professional" side while Adobe is geared more toward the "consumer/pro-sumer"...

with the benchmark of professional being of course TDM Pro Tools.

Not on LE versions all you would need is an mbox, on HD it must be m-powered

Re: Recording software and beat making software

theres a program i wanna check out that looks VERY proffesional....and very nice at that....MOTU Digital Performer....i just havent been able to speak with anyone who owns it to know whether it worth it and how it compares to cubase SX 3.....but i do know, it comes with quite a few MOTU instruments, which are nice as fuck...and has an original sequencing style that no other program has....they reviewed it in future music magazine...but, i dont trust theyre opinions....they seem to have higher opinions of more expensive shit, and lower opinions of cheaper shit..like its all a big marketing scheme...

but, any of you fucked with MOTU digital performer??
