i was thinking of buying a new computer what do you lall think about macs? i was looking at the mac mini

How much you trying to spend? And what are you trying to do with the computer? Macs are great I don't care what anyone says... I like pc's too though. Mac mini isn't no super computer but it'll def get some shit done, i'de upgrade to 1gb ram if you do get it...

for the money you spend on a mac mini you could get this

better processor, and more ram, more HD space than the $599 mac mini..
same price...


and honestly... its easier to find bootleg software for PCs.

well, that widens your choices drastically...

for a G, you could get a PC that kills its price counterpart at macintosh... by far.

the pc will also be easier to upgrade, and less expensive to upgrade. Software and hardware wise.

Macs use intel chips now... just like PCs, but still cost more.

It's personal pref. I mean, yea you can get a 'better' PC for the price, but I have been running window's on my Mac now for 2 weeks. I am able to use my ProTools for Mac, and other applications, while running Windows and it's software.

I did however have to max my comp out in RAM.

But if you do wanna buy a mac, wait till after Feb. Thats when the new Quad Core chips are in Macs, and the Duo core's will be way cheaper.

ANd like I said, it's personal pref. but I haven't ever had to 're-boot' my comp EVER in 5 years of owning Macs. Much more stable, and a lot more money, but you very rarely have to upgrade tho, cuz they are pretty powerful.


Just get whatevers comfortable with. No one comp is better. I personally like good comps, and I'll pay more if I have to, just so I never have to worry about viruses, comp freezes, system crashes, etc.
