    Quick ?

Alright im on the verge of really taking beat making/producing etc etc seriously, and i was thinkn of what else i would like to teach myself and be able to do. N my moms been buggn me about something for my xmas list etc etc....so i went looking for some options, and i was thinking either a really good keyboard type a deal or a dj'n package (cuz djn has always been a fancy of mine, but never got a chance to do it)...so id like an opinion on that..and also i went lookn for some dj equipment and if i was to ask for something like that i was thinkn this package would be good... am i right or wrong this?

    Please don't.

Manufacturer packages SUCK! The only good package I've seen was put together by a retailer. PSSL to be exact.

For 400 bucks total you are going to get shitty equipment.

    Shitty equipment = shitty music.

It's a terribly expensive hobby. If you aren't prepared to spend a decent amount of money on equipment you probably don't want it bad enough or just outright can't afford it. That being said records are expensive as well. It's a huge money sink.

If you are planning on sampling spend your money on a high fidelity needle and a turntable.

    Re: Quick ?

sorry to repeat you n things (but i just like to be very clear on things..hope thats ok)

So it would be better to get a turntable/needle/cart (and use it for sampling)

then to get a full package type a deal (considering lower quality) and use it as a learning mechanism and fun

...just me saying it already sounds like option one is better but perhaps the 2nd one along with a different for of sampling or wateves...

...sorry again i just like asking a bunch of ?'s

    Re: Quick ?

If you are going to be focusing on making beats etc.

Just get a decent turntable and a cart for sampling and a cart for scratching. If you want to scratch you'll need a mixer though.

It really depends on what you want to do and what you feel comfortable with.

    Re: Quick ?

Inspire could you recommend me a good mixer in around the 500 range? Or should i save more loot for something dope? Also i'm getting a 1200 in a week or two and i was wondering what all i'm going to need to be in business,(cables, needles, cartridges, pre- amp?,etc) I'm looking to mostly use it for sampling(onto my comp) but i also wanted to do a few scracthes here and there on beats. Oh and will i be able to sample into my comp without a mixer, i already have a pretty nice sound interface( motu896hd).

Sorry for invading your thread speks
