seperated as in they dont sound mixed, or they sound too clean or too muffy for the beat?
either way....you need to adjust your levels and eq, and possibly add some compression for effect if needed.
Welcome to reality.
yea i think its all the compression and eq
learn your effects homie cause in the long run you will have to anyway and you probably wont have problem like these no more

you probably need some low end in the EQ and a little compression along with a proper mixing of the levels. the vocals need to be mixed with the channels of the beat, not the beat as a whole.

i had a feeling someone would post this link. ive read through these, the compression tuts talk about compressing instrumentals but not vocals and the eq tuts arent very helpful even though that's something someone would have to learn on they're own so i understand that. but yea, im just gonna have to find a producer then i guess.....
vocals are instruments... and eqing is basically finding what doesn't stand out and making it stand out... so your voice sounds full... what you should do is buy a mixing book... learn how to build a stage and what not...
