I want to get a Rode NT1A mic, but I don't know what mixer to get with it.
I want something fairly cheap, just basically so the mic will work.
Thanks to anyone who can suggest something.

If you're gonna be taking this recording shit seriously, I dont recommend the nt1a unless you have a really good preamp or mixer or something.

Him saying he wants a "fairly cheap mixer just so the mic will work" shows the quality he is looking for...
And the nt1a is an alright mic.

How much are you willing to spend? You have to let people know your budget.

if you aren't using a computer... go with a yamaha... or mackie... any cheap one will do... if you are using a computer you don't need a mixer... you need a preamp... such as the presonus tube pre... it's 100... and word. however lmfao@flight... the nt1a is a great starter mic... if you're taking recording seriously... it works with very cheap equipment and it works well... word... ^ Yeah I've got those. What type of mic clip would I need? I've got a Shure mic clip at the moment, would I have to buy a different type?
you don't need a mic clip... it comes with a shock mount...

Check that out, emu puts out great quality products.
Aight, thanks Brandon.
And quiet, yeah I'm using my stock soundcard. Would the quality be worth £55/$100 more if I got the Emu as opposed to the tube pre?
this is me being honest... no. it'll be roughly the same... but you'll be able to do more with the 0404 then the tube pre... headphone jack... actual controls... monitor outs... midi ins outs... so get the 0404...
