Pictures won't do anything for you. Compression isin't a one step process. It's a number of things. Compression, limiting, threshold etc..

you need to learn to reference check your stuff by ear.

Why not just do some reading on compression anywhere on the net so you know what the compression terms actually mean? It'll be alot easier to apply them then instead of going off of someone elses pics....which wont do anything but confuse u more.

for the record, there 2 completly different songs, recorded by the same record label.

Both recorded in 2 different time periods.

Both are rap songs. Each has a legendary producer on it.

One is consider the "defacto standard" in how a hip hop track should sound when it's mixed.

The other is a horrible fucking mix. Cuz it's too loud, it's thin sounding, and the bass is really over compressed.
