ok...u guys r all wrong. pro tools is garbage! i am in audio engineering school and even the teachers hate it. They are big time producers and engineers for many of the hip hop artists that u internet heads worship. pro tools is full of glitches. freezes ur pc and u ALWAYS lose ur work. u cant trust it. but what i can recommend is...Logic. from what all the teachers are sayin bout it...it is hot. And for Beatmaking...I personally use reason. Fruity loops aint got shit compared to reason. If ur cpu could handle Reason..then go cop it. Fruity loops is 4 tykes. Cop reason if u wanna hang wit da big dogs.

lmfao i was doing the exact same thing cept they thought pro tools wasn't as good as logic in my oppinion logic i don't like reason's alright but blah...ima be buying up some shit soon so i'll most likly grab cubase i just gota buy a pre-amp and thats it.....

mac=good but there's way you can reduce latency on a p.c easily as well.....if you keep your p.c as up to date as possible there's no reason why a p.c can't keep up with a mac.....and phewy at not being able to get logic on p.c

mac = overpriced pc with OSX on it so it can hardly run any software that you wanna run. it's no better than a PC at all. in fact, for the price of a mac you can build a PC that would shit all over the mac.
