Because a marshal (MXL) mic is inferior to a rode on many levels and with just a little reseach you could learn that for yourself. You can get a desk mount stand for any mic, but since a condensor is very sensitive it doesn't make sense since the mic should be used in conjunction with a shock mount. Our audio help section couls have lead you down the right path, Opey gives very good advice as far as set ups and the best bang for your buck goes. I suggest you utalize it prior to any more purchases. What kind of set up do you plan on using this mic with?

oh...i Dunno Never Have Bought A Mic As You Can Tell. I'll Test It Out And If It Dont Sound Good Then I'll Send I Back. But I Think Its Good Enough. I Aint Known Yet Anyways, This Will Help Me Get There.
