I'm curious as to what exactly people here consider "great" music...also an opportunity for people to share their favourite tracks and groups. I'm talking any genre, any band, any time, its a tough thing to think of haha but if you were stuck on an island and only had 1 track to listen to for the rest of your life...what would it be!?

I would probably have to say mine is : Babylon by David Gray

The man is just a musical magician to me, he knows exactly how to touch every emotion in your system and lay it out. Anyone who's really been in a deep relationship or a place where you didn't know what to do...needs to hear this song. Everytime I play it, I don't only smile, laugh or nearly cry, I'm literally astonished, like I hear something new in it everytime and can replay the track for hours haha. His vocals, lyric, instrumental, everything is just incredibly perfect in gripping you in every right way.

Alot of other tracks are really, really important to me, both in hip hop and other genres, songs like Fire and Rain by James Taylor or anything by the Dave Matthews Band are just simply incredible, all are crazy to me but Babylon takes me to a crazy place that I just never wanna leave haha.

I'm sure everyone else here has a track that's really special to them, above any other and would like to share it..so drop and down and let us all know why. Peace.

Just a few, Led Zeppelin would have to be first. I am a drummer and John Bonham is such a fucking beast, ask almost any famous drummer today he will be one of their influences I almost gurantee it. All the songs I listed are rock and I know very few people on here like rock. They think it's a bunch of non sense with screaming but that's not the case it all. I came across this band, well, it's one dude, called Dialect. It's kind of like Godspeed You Black Emperor, Múm, along with some other Electronic styles. I fell in love with the first album, Buildings.with.towns.in. I heard recently (well, read from the site, that Dialect did something with another guy of their label: www.resonantlabel.com If anyone can find it on anywhere, please let me know, and if I can get it off you. It's called Stafraenn Hakon / Dialect - 'Tour EP'

Anyways. Buildings.with.towns.in is one of those albums that just relaxs me beyond any point of imagination, and also develops thought for me. But if I'm stressed out as possible. I throw on Dialect, and within 20 minutes I'm able to sleep again.
