You don't need brushes to have a background, so don't listen to them. Sometimes aiming for simplicity is best. My sig doesn't have brushes but that doesn't mean it doesnt have a background ..

Articulate your an idiot. The only time you should be allowed to use brushes is if you MAKE THEM YOURSELF. If your too lazy to do that you should just uninstall photoshop (Thats if you have it because See Sic made your sig)
