Death's Heartache For Helen

Captivated by the beauty of death and its never ending rest
A belated last breath… she lays lifeless in her warm nest
Nestled with death under her arm but he doesn’t protect
She wrestled until he left but not before his scythe cut her neck

One year ago Helen had the perfect life plus a living husband
Her daughter Carol Lynn was sane and they all were huggin
Knowing about heroin… a drug that they weren’t trustin
But Jean dared to sin… Helen woke up to find her husband with the needle in

Carol Lynn was only 17 when her father signed the death list
She later became addicted to meth amphetamine like a death wish
Carol Lynn never dreamed that her mind would become damned
Right after her system was clean… Carols mind suddenly hit the fan

Jeans life was made up of his two loves… Helen and then drugs
He remembered her pictured with doves… Then he delivered it kisses and hugs
But caught up with drugs… Turmoil and torment made him dope sick
Jean decided to shrug, for one last trip… Drugs were his life and that’s exactly what he owed it…

Helen was beautiful at 47 and she thought that her life was grand
Knowing that her peace on earth would bring her to heaven… Where Jesus stands
She tried her best to help Jean and Carol Lynn and unfortunately couldn’t
Meth and heroin took her family away then she swore it wouldn’t

All alone left with and empty home… Helen slowly dies
With the sound of a ringing phone… Her life becomes sublime
Drugs didn’t conquer her emptiness… But love conquered her mind
Now she’s with Jean in bliss… Only after death took her soul and left her body behind

I like the way that you told the story and it flowed very nicely which gave it an overall better read. I think that you conveyed emotion very well in this piece.

The last stanza had a big impact on me...

Wow...this was a lot better then I expected. I remember months ago reading your stuff and it was just a good piece. This actually made me read it twice it was that good.

I think you shuld use some mre inner rhyme though, I felt it was 2 AA...(i do the same thing though), I really liked it, we should collab sometime.
