    Biggie, Nas, Mos Def, Common, Ghostface, U-God, Wu Tang In General, and Raekwon basically created a slang crime rap that became popular in the 90's with OB4CL. He even got Nas to use the style on It Was Written. You can tell how his style changed between Illmatic and It Was Written.
