Love confiscates freedom
Enter its kingdom and give up the gold
Where sacrifices unfold to an empty mold
Of a cold heart and regretful feelings
The ceiling begins to crumble
As walls fold to prison bars
Given scars to memory’s frame
As it holds its picture far
From the paint, still in jars
Brushes restrained to claim the stars
Constellations turned to games
Of connect the dots as love rots
So how much do you pay?
Because love is never free
Vexed upon the vessel
Of fates false certainty
When all you had is lost
Amidst the sunset of lament
Sweat like bullets from a gun
Dropping like missiles in cement
Could’ve spent more time thinking
Of what love truly meant
Was it worth it all?
To alter life’s existence
To fit the seams of passion
And fall off into the distance
