Yes it is, and I doubt he's actually read it. Watching the movie doesn't count.

Anyway, here's a good list. Alot of classics, alot of my personal favorites:

    Religious/theological must reads:

    The Holy Bible.
    The Qoran.
    Dhammapada.
    Jesus Against Christianity.
    Lotus Sutta.
    St. Thomas Aquinas.

    Dystopian:
    1984.
    Clockwork Orange.
    Brave New World.
    Farenhiet 451.
    Animal Farm.

    Philosophy:
    Plato's "Republic".
    Nietzche's "The Gay Science".
    Kierkegaard.
Bertrand Russel's "Why I am not a Christian".
Kamus' "The Trial", and other short stories.
Jean Paul Sartre's "Essays on Existentialism"
    Kant "Critique of Pure Reason"
    Karl Marx's "The Communist Manifesto"

    Just random fiction I enjoyed:
    Fight Club.
    Trainspotting.
    Porn. (Trainspotting sequel)
    Catch 22.
    Closing Time. (Catch 22 sequel)
Choke. (Chuck Palahuinak, same author as Fight Club)
The Holographic Universe. (Will totally change your day to day perception of the world as you know it)
    Slaughterhouse 5.
    Catcher in the Rye.
    On the Road Again.
Dharma Bums. (Jack Keroac, same author as On the Road Again)
One Flew over the Kuckoos Nest.
Breakfast of Champions. (By Kurt Vonnegout, same author as Slaughterhouse 5)
Culture Jamming. Though I fear most of you won't get, or support the ideas in this as rap is a fiercely materialistic, superficial culture.

Man, I have some books that are the textual equivalent to dropping acid. I don't think you're ready.
