Insomnia
Kenny's holding back tears & fighting his fears
Constantly exhausted, he's been trying for years
No denying he's weird, he's reminded each day
When he looks in the mirror & takes a peak at his face
He's pleaded and prayed, but it's all so irrelevant
Is he treated this way for a reason, or just for the hell of it?
There's no tellin' when, it's all unpredictable
He has to make a decision, it's vital & pivotal
Nevermind the subliminal, his dad left him alone
When he was seven & there's tension whenever he steps in his home
He sits next to the phone, waiting for his father to call
It's a lost cause & he wonders why he bothers at all
He talks to the wall, while hoping it'll talk back
It never responds & his mom tells him to stop that
And he's lost track of all his restless nights
Terrible nightmares in which he expects to die
It's never right & it's gone on long enough
His self-esteem's demolished and his confidence crushed
It's too often, too much & inside he's gone numb
It's this chronic state of insomnia that cause him to jump
