INFINITY
Written By Timeless
The meaning of life,
Of sin and strife,
Of wrong and right,
Of day and night,
Of good and bad,
Happy and sad,
Of moon and star,
Of planets afar,
Of years and tears,
Of hopes and fears,
Utter confusion,
And total illusion,
Of mind and soul,
Diamonds and coal,
Of fire and ice,
Pain and sacrifice,
Of smiles and screams,
Nightmares, dreams,
The crystal chalice,
Of spite, of malice,
The deep red mountains,
Oceans and fountains,
Of queens and jacks,
Of whites and blacks,
Of joy and mourn,
The rose and the thorn,
Of master and slave,
The womb and the grave-
Lie between the visions playing with my mind,
Twisting and turning and making me blind-
To all the things I once could see,
Till the sun clouded the light from me.
Cause deep beneath the sea lie untouched skies,
Where soft white winds float across my eyes.
Yet where they start and where they end,
Lies acutely hidden with the message they send.
But they draw on and play with my emotion,
As my life seems to pass in slow motion.
And all the dreams I once envisioned,
Become warped and wasted, self-imprisoned.
And I can't really be sure just what I feel,
When I'm really not sure just what is real.
Could I draw the line on infinity,
Or be imprisoned by simplicity?
Could I see so far I'd be looking back?
Could I shine so bright I'd appear as black?
Could I reach so high I could touch the ground?
Could I scream so loud I wouldn't make a sound?
Constantly enclosing, never to meet.
Constantly advancing, only to retreat.
Constantly searching, never to seek.
Constantly rising, never to peak.
Constantly licking, never to taste.
Constantly rotting, never to waste.
Constantly appearing, never to be seen.
Constantly crowned, never finding my queen.
Constantly plotting a story with no theme.
Constantly awaking unto the same dream.
There's no infinity if there's no-one who perceives it.
There's no reality if there's no-one who believes it.
There's no fantasy if there's no-one to fake it.
And there is no time if there's no-one to make it.
There is no sight and there is no sound.
There is no sky and there is no ground.
There is no day and there is no night.
There is no glory and there is no might.
There is no you and there is no me,
There never was and there never will be.
Only figments floating in a world of dreams-
Across someone's imaginary mind so it seems.
A desire, a need, a want, a must-
That once was, now is, and is soon to be dust.
