It was good except for that line. Made it seem less dark or profound to use kids words.

It was a nice allegory, I think it's called. It took your post script explanation for me to understand it, though. I gathered that it was about a soldier with a tortured conscience who thought he wasn't gonna get into heaven (or Eden). But the finer points were a bit blurred.
