My cool edit is fuckin' up and its pissin' me off.

I seriously don't know what its problem is. Some MP3s that I open, cool edit does this:

A window pops up thats called Interpret Sample Format As
Then it asks the sample rate, channels, and resolution.
Then another window pops up after I click okay and its called Raw Data (no header)
Then it has a drop box thats called Data formatted as and the default one that its on is 16-bit Intel PCM. Then I click okay and the MP3 that I have in the session or the MP3 that I'm trying to upload turns into loud static, only static, no sound of the beat or anything. It only does it with some beats, but its doing it with ones that I really can't have it doing it to.

Anyone know why this is happenin? Its killin' me.

are they actually mp3 beats that you downloaded, or were they m3u streams that you ripped and converted to mp3???

They are actual, like the ones i already have saved as sessions, when I open the sessions up now the beat is fucked.

when the Data Formatted As box opens, try switchin' it to 32 bit... that may be your problem...

you have to open it as the same format you saved it as.

Opey, it doesn't only happen for sessions. If I try to open a mp3 I downloaded, some work, and some don't. Before I get to work with it.

I did do the reinstall shit too. Is cubase as easy as cool edit?

ive never used cool edit. probably not, but it sounds like cool edit isn't working great. btw... why aren't you using Adobe Audition? Cool Edit is almost a decade old. Adobe Audition 3 just came out. Adobe bought Cool Edit a long time ago.

Audition 3 is just as easy to use as Cool Edit... and way more capable, better lookin', more powerful... etc etc... it's worth steppin' up to... but Cubase is probably even better still...

and some of your mp3s are probably either a different bit-rate or different sample rate...

audition is the updated version of cool edit. No one should even be using cool edit as an MTR.

yeah dude audition is way better. get audition 2 or 3.

might as well get 3, it has everything 2 had and more... and it's no harder to use... why get old shit when the new shit is out there, right???
