This whole time I've had it set to Jpeg because that's what manual said.
FUck
What's the difference?
RAW gives you the most information to work with. This is more important for post processing. If you don't do any post work (Photoshop and Lightroom) then there's no need to shoot in RAW. JPEG will be good enough. I shoot everything in RAW, though. Plus, it's the true amount of pixels. JPEG compresses so the quality isn't the same as when you shoot in RAW, edit, and then save as JPEG once you're all done editing.
Also, it's important to note that if you don't have Lightroom, you shouldn't shoot in RAW as you won't be able to view the images. I'm not sure if Photoshop reads RAW, but I don't think it does. I have CS6, which is a pretty new version.
I always shoot RAW, edit in Lightroom, export from LR as an 8-bit TIFF, import into Photoshop, edit it in PS, and then save the final image as JPEG.
Re: Freestyle photography thread!
I took a photography class before and all my photos were put in the showcase in the school. id like to get into photography but I need to get a camera.
tebo those last couple you posted werent bad but you need some practice and I would do some research and look into how to use that camera. you have a nice camera but you dont know what to do with it. there are so many different settings on cameras for taking different types of pics youd be surprised. and they make a hell of a difference.
Re: Freestyle photography thread!
Damn Ryan that sounds like too much time lol
Fuarkk!!
I guess we should set a team
I'm not down with the editing part though :/
Have some photographers, editors, etc
Re: Freestyle photography thread!

Re: Freestyle photography thread!
haha, what the hell. outfits for cats.. looks like the cat could be enjoying its self more.
i see a point of light in the cats eyes. Flash on? or light source? I would suggest flash off if you havn't already. i assume you have it off. Pets dont like the flash, and you want them to look more curious and happy when you pull out the camera.
i like the clown ones.

it might be on, the flash, bro -- I'm not positive
I'm just trying to take shots and learn how to fuck with the cam that way, instead of memorising what the instructions say
I want to start recording stuff tho, I like to make my own pics out of recordings as well
I'm not sure the proper option to be in recording mode yet tho & I've been 2 lazy to look it up

Just wondering, since im a big animal person. and i dont wan't others to make the mistakes i made when photographing animals. I used to just take photos as standard, one setting does all. Mostly i just snapped flicks of graff.
But anways. i used to use flash and i scared my pets. so whenever i would pull out the camera, they would never look at it. It took us getting new pets and me realising that the flash was making the pets uncomfortable.
Now that ive turned it off, the cats come up and rub their cheek scent pads on thew camera. Getting much better pics.
Re: Freestyle photography thread!
