I travel this eclipse light-headed and
light-footed
hovering over the dark crevasse of misfortune
Like a golden eagle

We ride in the car like it is a religion and
the turbulence wraps around my head
like a turban and my soul spins like a turbine
and my tough skin is peeled back like an apple rind
and my heart blossoms like a lotus betwixt
the rivers that lie parallel to my hips
on I-79
rolling down like the sappy spit on the
trees lips

the music sounds like black crows
coughing
As I chug
A beer and listen to the guitar
stick
to the drums like grass
on the earth and I
burp like a
bloated fish
exploding like a roman candle
red light district
restricted
I must admit that I've had
too much like a beached
whale and I rewind
like the seasons
relief
belief
it is in my mind all the time
hope
elopes
me
ropes me in
breaks my neck and
drags me along the ground
impure burial grounds
ancient proverbs
a flower that pops up
when pressed down
this is all to the same
sound and if you find it
you find me and we will both
be swimming
