Anybody know any tutorials/programs for mastering/mixing tracks. (Mastering is the main thing). It would be nice not to have to pay hundreds of dollars for somethin if I work at it that can be done in my home. Thanks for the future posts.

First off lets get this straight, u can do mixing in your home, and you can pretty much learn about it and do the damn thing over time...
but mastering takes a special breed of person, and u tend NOT TO simply do mastering on all plug-ins....u need some hardware and some outboard effects to warm up the mix....its just that simple...
and neither of the 2..mixing or mastering is something u learn and are GOOD at in any short period of time.

Unless you are an engineer you cannot master, period.
I agree on that mastering ordeal but you can get simple mastering which isn't fully considered 'mastering' but it still does its job. Just cop the Izotope Ozone 2 plugin and T-Racks24 prog and you can get an easy small pre-mastering and final mastering. Again it's not really the real 'mastering' but it's just small shit like a slight final compression on the overall mix and a blending present that blends everything together gives it a smoother easy listen vibe....levels shit it's nice jus read on it. Again though I recommend mixing on your own spare time...I mix my own tracks been mixing for about 6 years now in several diff. programs learning new shit. Try mixing though trust me it's worth it.
That Isnt Mastering

believe called Ozone, many independed artist who do it themselves
master with this program ive heard and they sound pretty clean to me
And get the whole program of ozone it is a mastering program not
just some plug-ins that go with programs like cubase, or nuendo etc.
*breaks clark kent's anus in*
lol, that sounds homo
You needa go research more into T-Racks homie...really good prog aswell Ozone was bout to get into aswell son. But if you use both T-Racks and Ozone you can get somthin mad sick. I use Ozone for pre-mastering and T-Racks for the final mastering.Quote:

so your telling me that its no POSSIBLE WAY to master unless you are a professional engineer? psshh its many people in the business who master n have never taken any engineering classes if you know what sound you need to get you can POSSIBLY DO IT i not saying that anyone can do it but some may be able too, you might not get the PERFECT MASTER but for many it could be good enough
