Chapter I

I ran to the hills,
heels blistering under
the coarse skin of Nature.
Then rolled back
like broken goods...
back into the arms of purgatory.
Kissing Poseidon on the cheek as I passed
only delayed the waves of misfortune
as devils ate my heart.
I am nobody.

The flames licked me,
much like a pet dog
who'd miss me when I left home,
leaving a slobber of burns
with a flick of it's tongue
and wagging it's tail at me
while dancing around me in circles...

So my first thought when I got to the end was... is this to be continued? The pace opened it up quickly and it continued throughout. Now I want to know what prompted the running and the flames. I'm selfish though and always want all the answers, even when they aren't meant to be given. lol.
