Live, Die & Entertain (Collab W/ DubThaDamaja)
African rock n' roll
does not know me. neither does Kravitz
I think your idol is a half-wit
See my crime of heresy
in black & white, newspapers
floating up dirt roads
of the Planet.
Weakness is my strenght
we are the wrath of Obama '08
we are the line the graffiti artist
can't keep straight
The underpaid zen master
prints the letters t, r, e, e
on the sky and imagines
Mist before the peak
the dream
Goes on
but not for very long
we real artists live, die and entertain
nevermind what chemicals enter our veins
nevermind the vanity and the nirvana
nevermind the devil's addiction to prada
our boom-bap saved generations
stitched and sewed a severed nation
Real Artists Live, Die and Entertain..
You look up at me from atop my stapled perch..
Worship the work I created in another state..
Addict is what you call it, my insatiable thirst..
Grab me another fifth before it’s too late..
Boom bap sound serves as your weekend getaway..
Legs weary run to my solution..
Over dose on hate mail, it’s really my debt that weighs..
All my thoughts, simply confusing..
Don’t be ME by imitation..
How I became great I know it now..
Thoughts of success diverted assimilation..
Waiting for this parachute of drugs to slow it down..
Nevermind the sleepless nights..
Nevermind not knowing who to trust..
Nevermind all those neon lights..
Nevermind the looks of disgust..
Our Boom-Bap Saves our Generation..
Stitched the patchwork of a once severed nation..
Real Artists Live, Die and Entertain..

This was fire. Both of you connected real well...in my opinion in each 1, the last 7 lines were my favorite part
1st stanza-you had a lot of different things in yours, you covered a lot and it was good.
we real artists live, die and entertain
nevermind what chemicals enter our veins
nevermind the vanity and the nirvana
nevermind the devil's addiction to prada
our boom-bap saved generations
stitched and sewed a severed nation
Real Artists Live, Die and Entertain..
and then this from the 2nd stanza
Nevermind the sleepless nights..
Nevermind not knowing who to trust..
Nevermind all those neon lights..
Nevermind the looks of disgust..
Our Boom-Bap Saves our Generation..
Stitched the patchwork of a once severed nation..
Real Artists Live, Die and Entertain..
Glad you posted this, it was a good read and kind of an eye opener, also held my attention the whole time. I liked the emotion you two threw into this.
8/10
Keep up.

i want to know who did which stanza before feeding this

i like to get a feel for the writer, not just the piece. i needed to know who wrote what to know who's who.
you came correct. a witty piece, and still managed to stay to your message. i like the contradictions for the most part but "weakness is my strength" seemed a bit forced, and it also reminds me of a patton oswalt cd title. I felt the piece could have been much stronger if it was just you and if you had elaborated on your train of thought. I really like this because it's a window into the talent you have. i see a good amount of potential in you, and a real desire for poetry that your words carry. can't wait to see you grow as a writer.
my favorite part

we real artists live, die and entertain

nevermind the devil's addiction to prada
it had a nice manifesto feel to it there, it was a bit trashy but self righteous, i liked that.
