Re: Brian... computer time... build it.
I picked up mine, looks good...
but yo opey - theres shit n stuff on their i should be able to access right?
or ... am i wrong lol
Re: Brian... computer time... build it.
oh yeah... I shouldve run you thru how its set up. My fault man. You really don't have too much on there tho. It's all stripped down and optimized for running audio.
All the normal apps that you can access are on the quick launch bar. When you install new apps just drag a shortcut to there (like OSX) and delete the folder from the start menu and any shortcuts from the desktop. You can also right click the taskbar and click "Unlock Taskbar" to be able to resize the quick launch size and task bar height to make room for more apps. The bar is on auto-hide so it can be as large as you need it to be and itll never get in your way.
On the task bar, to the left of the quick launch you have the "Desktop" menu which is where you access all your folders and drives as well as Control Panel. This folder is drag and drop so you can quickly access and move files and folders straight from the task bar. This gets rid of the need for minimizing and switching between a bunch of windows to get to the desktop or to do a simple task like drag files into a session or recover a deleted file from the Recycle Bin.
The Start menu is set up so you never have to use it unless you're doing something out of the ordinary like maintenance. just keep the programs folder cleaned out so it's not cluttered with shit you'll never click on. Between the Quick Launch bar and the Desktop menu you should never really need to use the Start Menu or the actual Desktop.
Once you start using the computer for running multiple apps and folders you'll get used to the layout and see how conveniently set up it is.
Re: Brian... computer time... build it.
Alright that sounds good
and you said ull let me get that cubase 4 n what not
cuz i have nothing that compatible with pc, like after i bought the computer n got to full sail n pretty much figured it was lost....full sail proved to me that i was in it for the business aspects, so as far as sounds etc ...its basically non-existant ..which is y more or less, i might get some basics mess around n see if i feel the need to take the general testing of the whole process to more of a hobby level....or to turn right out n sell the computer
...tough world
but in all reality, is a dope computer...
thanx again.
Re: Brian... computer time... build it.
actually I just realized you'll need the ilok dongle to use cubase 4. I have a lot of other stuff I can hook you up with tho. I'll let you borrow some install discs.
Re: Brian... computer time... build it.
Cubase 4 can be cracked without a dongle

Thats what I used on my last machine and it worked
Re: Brian... computer time... build it.
That's Cubase Studio. not the same. and even that is buggy. and i'm pretty sure it doesn't work on 64-bit systems.
Re: Brian... computer time... build it.
Hmm ok. I wont even try it on my new machine then lol
