I don't see how ppl during the medieval/feudal eras were able to survive wars back then, like the ones where tens of thousands of warriors line up in front of each other then enthusiastically charge at one another with swords drawn. I mean it's one thing to march all the way to the battleground, but then you have to run towards the enemy too when you get there, and by the time you engage in combat you're surrounded by people friend and foe at an arms length from each other, all swinging their swords and shit. I mean If I'm being honest I've got 15 seconds tops before I'm dead.
I'd fake die and hope to not get trampled. Then if we won I would kill the most heroic man in our army and tell his story as my own. I would return home a hero until my misdeeds were eventually uncovered. Ultimately I would be drawn and quartered, suffering a worse death than I would have on the battlefield
Lmao yeah you would get trampled. I mean, if you could survive maybe 30 minutes then there would be enough bodies so that faking your death would be plausible. But 30 minutes of me just randomly throwing my spear at people is way too unrealistic. I don't think anybody cared who they killed back then. You could swing your sword and accidentally kill your ally and nobody would give a shit. So maybe you should go in with that mentality where you constantly lingered around the more heroic warriors and just made loud noises waving your sword around to make it look like you're giving it your all, that way it appears that you're making a huge contribution. Everybody would be inspired and rally around you then you can use them as meat shields.
And what about horses? You expect me to ride a horse that I've loved and nurtured it's entire life into a battle where it's just going to get killed? It's one thing to send me to get killed, but you want my horse to die too? Who the fuck are you to decide who lives or die? Maybe I should just bring the family along, we can all die together, sorry kids General Wang needs us at the frontlines, says we can't win the battle unless us farmer peasants can muster the courage to war with trained battle-hardened warriors.
