Not going to lie some of the newer guys should prob watch more battle rap.. like some of you are good writers but I don’t think understand double entendres.. guys like MV BAGS MANDELA SPREE and the rest have great setups multis schemes and doubles.. a lot of you sometimes have that and then sometimes it’s just words rhyming, no real quotables.. so far unfuk and mv had the best verses this round imo.. if ima keep it real

I agree that if Rum Nitty spit the bar in a live battle about a “thermal scope” and “see you in a different light” then it would probably be received well and get a crowd reaction. But this ain’t Smack, and reading it in text doesn’t have the same effect or impact as a dude like Rum being able to deliver the shit live and act it out performatively.
I’ve been watching rap battles since Mook vs. Lux/Jae Millz/Serius/Party Arty and shit. I used to watch Fight Klub on MTV lol. Serius vs. Jin or 40 cal vs. whoever. Fuckin Nems and shit lol. Iron Solomon vs. Math and Flamez and Shirt N Tie.
I agree that on RB the general preferred style of writing in text battles is more in sync with leagues like KOTD/Grind Time overall. But it’s not like there aren’t any Smack rappers who don’t have bars/punches that would translate well in a text battle on here. It’s just different when it’s a live battle and delivery/performance/aggression etc and crowd control are all factors.
We understand the shit just fine. Unfuk’s verse had a couple cool bars/concepts in it. The votes reflected that for the most part, as he’s received all of them. There’s simply a difference between text battles and live ones.
Yeah it’s a difference in text and live but that’s not what I’m saying.. what I’m saying is it’s confusing that some votes reflect that some of the newer audience here dont get a simpler entendre.. im reading some fire bars here and im seeing some say “i don’t get it” like literally thats the point im making along with im reading some that has no entendre what so ever and they think it’s the hottest thing on earth which is confusing as hell..

I feel like you’re saying entendre when you mean double entendre. You’d have to drop specific examples of the shit you’re referring to (double entendres not being understood and bars without one being called fire) with the votes, after the battles are closed and then they can be addressed.
But I mean yeah, I’ll definitely admit voters don’t always know what they’re talking about. After all - you somehow got a couple vs. me with a stretched ass long bar that had two set ups and ended in a “lame-man’s (lay man’s) terms” wordplay. Lol.
Dont take my opinion to heart or out of context. Im not trying to say anyone here sucks.. i just am brining to light that im seeing a lot of votes criticizing bars and saying they don’t understand bars meanwhile there are bars that are very confusing coming from the same people saying that.. we all write what we like here and use our own styles.. i for one will not change my style just because a few dont like it especially when I can say the same thing.. like I can point out a few bars that has no punch in them wether long bar short bar or medium bar. The point here is to have fun and enjoy the art of battle rapping it’s not for you or myself to pretend we are lightyears ahead of anyone lol.. just take it for what it’s worth is all im tryna say it’s a lot of good talent here but imo there are some here that would benefit from watching more battle rap so they can understand it’s more than one way to battle rap
