I wouldn't be surprised if Richard had some sort of connection to him. I see a book on poetry, then I see a reference to Scrypt, then I see Richard Corey get mentioned. That's alot of red flags for me lol.
Scrypt is def a pretty obscure term.
The book was also written in 2014, so realistically there’s no way the author would have been able to name drop Mystery Murdera (or even myself) if he’d been digging around sites at that time.

I don't think that guy was personally involved in text because the timeframe he is focusing on is kind of off. Especially if he's an older historian. From that excerpt he makes it seem as if text started at that period, but in reality it dates back to 1995-1997. Apathy, Deacon The Villain, DJ Kno, Cashmere The PRO, Sankofa, Jugga The Bully, Stahrr The FEMCEE, are some people that came before Jin, at least I think. Wasn't Holla Front in the early 2000s? The very first text battling sites back then were Lyricists Domain, Lyrical Vortex, Davey D's, Sethros, ICU, I think I'm missing one there. When Sethros went down everybody shifted to UPN, and Frac and Resin were there too, I can't speak for their original sites like RM or RB or whatever, but UPN had Aloe Vera, Nathan Blaze, Username, Defc0n, Ajax, Priest, Native Son, I think Baron Mynd passed through there, Storm G, alot of RM guys were around UPN. Anyone know how old RM was? I don't remember it being around in 95. Pretty much the oldest generation of text battling I was exposed to went on to become UPN, and the later generations, which are probably you guys, RM/RB frequented UPN.
And that reminds me of Richard Corey because he ignored all that history after being told about this by people at UPN and insisted that text battling, or Scrypt, as he called it, originated in the early 2000s.

Just googled it. vBulletin is not a free forum software. You can buy a vBulletin Connect license for $249 and self-host. Alternatively, you can opt to pay for hosting with the vBulletin Cloud at $15 per month.

The sites been dead for a long time so if it suddenly goes down when it's just starting to get active again that would be terrible. I also wouldn't want to lose all the history here. This is one of the oldest sites still available. UPN was being operated the same way RB is now, it was dead for years but still online, when the pandemic happened some of the key figures came back to it and moved all their archives to NC, then shut the site down. Maybe we'll get a notice in advance and have enough time to archive all of Zelph's no shows and transfer them to NC.
Wasn't trying to manipulate anyone. Was trying to revive the site and we did for awhile. But that revival only lasts as long as the participation does.

I dunno. I emailed hundreds of people about the ppv and sacred Scriptures. And had people talking to people about said events. Not saying someone wasn't but there was a lot of people logging in, posting once or twice then vanishing again so it could've been an activity grab by one of the other admins or it could've been people just checking it out and deciding against it. I can't speak for anyone.
