I watched an amazing Japanese Horror movie that I was on the fence about seeing for a couple years, well, the translation on the copy I had was terrible so I refused to watch it. I came across a copy that had much better subtitles today and gave it a try. It's called Museum. I would say that it's the Japanese equivalent of the movie Seven.
I really don’t like movies where I have to rely on sub titles. Ju On , Pulse, and Train to Busan were the last few Japanese flicks I’ve compromised for.
Side note: thinking about rewatching “Mother” again if I can find it.
I watched those a couple days ago. Kairo was so much better than the westernized Pulse re-make and its sequels. Every time I watch it the movie takes you to a dark place and doesn't give you much hope things will get better.
Mother was a good thriller, too.

See I'm different. I love subtitles and hate dubs. Korea has the best slow-burn psychological horror movies. Mother/Train To Busan were both Korean. I cover alot of Korean/Japanese/Indonesian/Thai/Filipino horror on my Penthusiast show.
