bull shit. innercity teens have tunnel vision, so they automatically can't see the world for what it is. nigga I WAS an innercity teen.
you can't appreciate the world around you if you only see bits and pieces. i had to travel before I could even start developing realistic perspective on what was going on around me
I'm trying to tell you, I've been places in systems. hot ass classrooms w/ no AC to talking with the people that deal with cities education systems. that's only 1 example.
when you in that hot ass classroom, bitches pregnant and niggas leaving out, getting kicked out, dropping out...you can't even comprehend what's the reasons for it all
then fast forward to dealing with the educators. the boards. you start getting a bigger picture for why the schools underfunded.
fast forward from that, you start seeing land development and investment stock playing factors.
it goes on and on. teens in the city aren't exposed to all that perspective, they get boxed in -- most of them.
niGGa.. Walk a day in my teen years - you'd be DEAD.
Straight up, DEAD my nigga...
Growing up in Jamaica Queens/Far rock
Your body would have been found on the southside richmond hills train track body memorial.
Facts
Talk about appreciate the world around him, lol....
Just stop...
Oatmeal was dope
Another writer you all should see if you liked oats, was dexlabb
go from laughing at thirsty ass army recruiters to frowning after figuring out WHY ONLY the army recruiters wanna go to your school for contracts.

Lmfao, this is why I know you don't understand. i'm done with you dawg. you took that shit to a level i don't even travel anymore. stay humble.
Amen a real licensed killer bro
It's true..
Talk'n about appreciate the shit around you?
And not being able to see how much of an impact/influence hip hop at PACS time had...
Right?
Come on now...
I'm the type of person, I don't let ANYONE influence me...
I'm the nigga that doesn't travel the path that's been already walked...
I'm the nigga who creates a NEW path for those to follow...
It all depends on YOU...
Followers and sheep are easily influenced bu music, tv, video games, etc...
Never let that be a factor of my life or actions.
I did shit to gain experience and knowledge to learn...
Bruh. Maybe teens now.
Community centers and youth programs were heavy when i grew up
Growing up Brown skinned in the80/90's had plenty of opportunities for awareness.
Remember the civil shit your implying was here if not worse.
Remember, ppl were NOT pc back then.
Mentality a teen in the 80/90's was already an adult in most cases.
But..about Pac..
Remember who was out musically in his prime..
36 mafia.
Uncle Luke
Naughty by Nature.
Plenty of acts that would be considered"garbage" by todays standards..
It would not have, and did not take much cognizance or adulthood to appreciate and comprehend 2Pacs messege thru music.

@OG Maestro
Lol of maestro tooting his own horn itt
Stop it your bad
Yooo yall looking way too deep.
You ever hear the saying, "you don't know what you got until it's gone"?
That's the point I was making.
You live, you live young. You get older, you appreciate more. period.
Obviously most people that weren't adults yet can't possibly understand the TRANSITION and the REVOLUTION that an artist like 2pac brought to the table.
all of us wasn't even 18 yet. ALL OF US. amen had to be like 12 or some shit in 1995. <--not even counting when 2pac was blowing up.
so I comparing that to @Tim... 's old school list of topical writers he regarded as dope. i was telling him, basically...no matter how much i read up on them I won't understand what they did for the culture IN THE BIGGER PICTURE
got damn.
Master p n no limit.
Plenty of rreferences for a teen
I'm not sleeping on my community or the activism that was going on back in the day, just stating simple facts
How not? I dont agree.
you can't appreciate eating them salty, non-digestable ass ramen noodle packs damn near every day until yo ass start slicing up the cliche proverbial steak
you might have been told to appreciate, but your consciousness really appreciates that shit on a deep level when you ascend your character. that's why Amen talking like he is now, same with you Joog. yall came a long way

that's like a 14 year old trying to say michael jackson was a cultural milestone compared to james brown
how the fuck can a 14 year old speak with any realistic perspective on a time-era gap that's too big for him/her to cross? all that teen know is the atmosphere from within the movement AND NOT the context that surrounded it prior to its inception.
i'm tryna lay some light on you, god. listen, king. *loaded lux face*
