Some were accidental self-inflicted spear fatalities, others resulted from failure to maintain the proper distance from my range of throw. I can throw farther than 3-5 feet when I'm hunting large game like support dogs or lamb, but I have to be running fast enough to propel the spear forward. If I push myself to the limit, in mid-sprint I can almost get 7 feet. It just depends on the terrain. If I'm running downhill there's a better chance I can hit 7 ft. But that doesn't happen often.
