Than you CUT, cause the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism is, and it's harder to lose muscle, than gain, if you still work out/cardio, so if your on a bulking, and just basically lifting, and eating correctly, your going to gain muscle mass. While if you cut, and try to gain on a calorie deficent, it's alot harder, and more effort. So first I told him to bulk, so he gains muscle, than when he loses, he'll naturally be bigger/leaner, and itll take less time. I think he should wait off on ab work, unless he want's to have his ab's ready for when he cut's, but I think he should do ab work when he starts cutting, cause, what's the point, of doing 200 situp's a day, while you bulk for a 1-2 month's, and not really being able to see them. Either way, it's fine, itll just take some straint off him, if he focus's on the core. HA, make sure to do squat's to, become friend's with the real weight room', real weight's, not just the machine's.
