People started saying I won because of my name and that I wouldn't win against the likes of ThaTalent or Vern acular or Pent uP and those types at their own boards outside of here, so I joined up wherever and champed those too.

Riko was crazy at scheming, it got very robotic once you had seen him do it so many times though if I'm honest. It did blow my mind to see that The canvas cries for nourishment verse for the first time, though, I admit.

Cimm been consistently good for years with 16 line verses but he's never really been a storyteller nor had the motivation to stay in a league and prove himself constantly week in week out. He's not competed in the top tier competitions/tourneys/leagues either to make an impact. I like him, I respect him, but you can't really compare the two things IMO. His accolades are few and far between- regardless of how good you may think he is.

yea they just switched to xenforo instead of vbulletin jeff sold the site and everyone went to obtva and that other one. in 1999 RM was the mp3.com forums.

It would have to be of monetary gain to myself for me to do it. Otherwise there's no incentive, really, given the board membership is inactive anddddddd the fact I mod and run tourneys elsewhere already, plus I got asked to run the AOWL and I turned it down because that shit would eat up way more of my free time than I'm willing to dedicate purely for the love of the game.

That's real shit, too. I've run a few beastly tourneys at NC just because I felt like it and thought they would be fun for all involved. It eats up a LOT of free time though and I'm a family man with a wife and daughter now.

If it doesn't excite me and it doesn't pay me, someone else can take care of it. I've given more than my fair share of time toward stuff just to keep this hobby of ours alive.

The game owes me something back for once.

I'm not really a fan of "seasonal" leagues taking up 16 weeks then playoffs. Again, it becomes a chore, rather than a hobby. Even in the AOWL I only compete for a few weeks at a time before I lose interest and sign out. 6 weeks is probably my longest. The trouble isn't the writing at all, it's the voting on top of that which always seems to take place of a weekend and requires you to vote on 4-6 other battles. That's a LOT of work when your free time is at a premium.

This forum seems to be on its way out, and the only worth it has to me is it's cypher forums. Netcees is booming with activity that easily dwarfs this site, and in a weird way I think that's why I prefer here. It's almost as dead as my interest in forums, and there's a lot less trolls to deal with. But plenty of talent on that site, and a lot of respect for the heads who didn't take shit from the owners on here and made something better out of it.
