Hit the tourist stuff if you want. It's cool to check out Times Square to see it. But for the love of God don't eat in midtown. Head down to Tribeca at the very least. South street seaport is pretty chill family / old people / couple vibe and the food is good. Walkable area.

Then hop your ass over the BK bridge (great photo spots / good tourist thing to do.) Dumbo is literally right there. Or you can hop a train all over Brooklyn. The best neighborhoods are 15 minutes by train. (Hipsters don't fuck with subways.)

Anyone telling you Brooklyn or Manhattan are dangerous neighborhood by neighborhood are retarded and have never lived in NY. Or any other city.

I lived in Bed Stuy back when it was me and one other white dude there. Two blocks from Marcy. The other white dude was a fucking viking - I would see him on the subway stop, six foot five, jacked, in greaser gear (cuz that's what the hipsters were up to those days.) And it was super safe. Great neighbors, made some good friends. I would go to the bodegas next to the school at like 2am and wouldn't be any problems because NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T FUCKING ROB PEOPLE.

Chicago is a whole different story. I lived in nice neighborhoods in Chicago and still heard gunshots every other weekend. You get on the subway and it just feels different. Southside Chitown is a literal war zone. They kill everyone out there.

They aren't. Have you even been to either? Astoria isn't shit (I fucking lived there half of my life - the other half in Jamaica Queens) unless you enjoy eating Greek and Indian food. L I City is ok at best - I don't consider it a tourist attraction, faggot.

I lived in Astoria for 2 years. Had friends in Long Island City for all years I was in NY. I love Greek food AND INDIAN FOOD - Greek girls are fucking awesome too.

Been to Jamacia. Didn't love it. Too many people LIKE YOU AROUND! OOOoooOOOooOOoo.

As far as tourist attractions, you need to level up your tourism.

C grade tourism is shit like Statue of Liberty.

Rich people, A grade tourism is: 1. Food. 2. Nightlife. 3. Where we can take selfies and IG posts to make our friends jealous. 4. Stories we can tell about places that have "character" (aka. we hung with the artists and saw some black people but - guys - it was totally safe.) 5. Places we can go where we don't even have to go in, in order to have a good story for our friends. (ie. "They had this speak easy, and there was no sign on the door. You had to go in through a phone booth. But my friend totally gave us the password and we had the best Old Fashioned I'VE EVER HAD IN MUH LIFE!)
